Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology does not boast of 100% placements but has a decent placement record, especially for commodities like B.Tech divisions of Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics etc., Overall, placement rates vary between 70%–85% and depend on the year and market demand. Many IT companies come for recruitment, including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Capgemini offering average salary packages ranging from INR 4-6 LPA; however, some of the top performing students were offered INR 8-10 LPA. The college has an actively functioning placement cell and the students get its support.

Studying at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology under the B.Tech programme is said to be fairly demanding, but this is because of the programmed structure of learning and teaching that is offered in the college. It is the lot of the learner to handle full-contact classes and grueling projects, practicals, and laboratory sessions in computer science, electronics and mechanical engineering among others. Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology has a place among the new generation engineering institutions in Karnataka and it was observed that this institution falls in between 150 to 200 ranks in Karnataka and all India publication lists. Their ranks may slightly differ each year, however, they are known for technical programs and industrial relevance of their curriculums. In this regard, the status of the college, its associated placement assistance, the quality of the faculty, and infrastructural facilities received overall positive response, especially in Karnataka.

For B.Tech at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology include completion of 10+2 education from a recognised board in Physics and Mathematics and one of the optional subjects for instance Chemistry, Biology, Computer science. The general category students require a minimum aggregate of 45% while the reserved categories may require 40% Pass percentage. Also, the candidates need to be eligible in national level or state level entrance tests including KCET or COMEDK respectively where scores determine the availability of the seat.

The cutoffs are different for the MBA programme offered by Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology depending on other tests which include KMAT, Karnataka PGCET or MAT. Ordinarily, the percentage of scores for general candidates in Karnataka PGCET is at 50-55 while for KMAT, scores as low as 108-112 are usual. That is why the score of other categories may be lower if a hotel has strict reservation policies. These cutoffs vary every year depending on the competition, difficulty of the examination, and the turnout of candidates.

The highest salary package being offered at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology (NCET) is up to INR 10 to 12 Lacs Per Annum for the students usually from the branches such as computer Science engineering and information technology. Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology (NCET) considers a number of entrance examinations for MBA admissions. The Karnataka University, as well as other universities in the state of Karnataka conduct the Karnataka PGCET examination for postgraduate students and other Universities conduct national level entrance test such as CAT, MAT and XAT.
