The National Institute of Design (NID) will release the NID DAT important dates 2021 most likely in the first week of October 2020. NID DAT 2021 comprises two stages - preliminary and the main exam which will be conducted tentatively in the last week of December 2020 and last week of April 2021 respectively. However, to appear in the NID DAT mains exam, candidates are required to clear the prelims exam.
Important dates :
1. Announcement of notification : First week of October, 2020
2. Availability of 2021 NID DAT application form : First week of October, 2020
3. Release of NID DAT admit card 2021: Third week of December 2020

Yes, you can pursue the M.Des course at NID on the basis of 4 years GDPD courses. GDPD course is a Diploma level course. While B. Des is an Undergraduate level degree course. The eligibility criteria and course duration are the same for both courses. Fee structure is also a big difference between the both of courses. The fee details of both of courses are given below.
1. B. Des Course fee : Rs 1207800 (Excluding hostel charges)
2. GDPD Course fee : Rs 953200 (NID Andhra Pradesh) Excluding hostel charges.
