Yes, it is compulsory to attend the 1st round because it gives a choice and options to choose other institutes for the 2nd round.

Hi, Keep a check on the IHM website they will post about the criteria from which you can know about the college you can get into. The central of the IHM is IHM, Mumbai.

According to last year's cut-off, if you are a general category student then you can't as last year the last admitted rank was somewhere in 1300. But, you are SC/ST or OBC, then you can easily get it.
