Hi Yash,
Eligibility criteria for age is that you should be of 16.5 years to 19.5 years on the date of joining the academy. So definitely you can apply for NDA in 12th appearing category. For joining NDA UPSC conducts NDA exam twice a year. Exam conducted in month of April is called NDA-1 and the one conducted in month of September is called NDA-2. They are named so just for easy understanding. There is no difference in their selection procedure of both the exams.

Hi, Yash. It would be beneficial for you if you are pursuing any hobby. Because it helps in enhancing your personality in a very good manner. Coming towards necessity for NDA no it's not necessary for anyone. But it's recommended for you to be a little different from others.

You should not be born before 2nd July 2000 and not after 1st July 2003 for NDA shift one exam. For the second shift exam, you shouldn't be born before 2 January 2001 and not after 1st January 2004.
