The NEET MDS exam is carried out in an online format, also known as computer-based mode. Candidates are required to complete the exam on the computer at the designated test center. Test-takers will need to select the correct answer option on screen using the mouse and then click on the Submit button. If they do not submit the answers, it will not be taken into account for grading. In the exam, candidates can choose to mark any question for later review, whether they have answered it or not, allowing them to review those questions again before the exam time is up.

NEET MDS stands for National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) - Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). NEET MDS serves as both an eligibility and ranking test that is required for admission to a variety of MDS Courses in India. The NBE administers the medical Science exam. It is a three-hour computer-based test (CBT) or online examination. As per the National Board of Examination (NBE), it is essential to pass NEET-MDS in order to pursue MDS courses at different Universities/Institutions in the country. Nevertheless, AIIMS institutes do not recognize NEET MDS scores for admissions and prefer to conduct their own entrance exam.
