TISSNET: It is an online aptitude exam and is divided in three sections (weightage is roughly equal for each section, though subject to change every year):
Quant: If you are already preparing for other management exams then you will find the Quantitative Aptitude questions to be fairly easy. However, if you are only aiming for TISSNET then I would suggest you to cover all Quant topics that are covered in management exams. You only need to practice low-medium level of difficulty questions.
Also, in 2016, the paper had some questions based on Data Interpretation, therefore, again I would suggest you to be well-versed with different types of questions in DI on the low-medium difficulty scale.
Verbal: Verbal section again is fairly easy. You need to have a decent command over the language to score full in this section. Be well-versed with basic Reading Comprehension passages.
General Knowledge: This is the make or break section in TISSNET. The GK is both current and static and covers areas ranging from economics to geography to politics. Therefore, your preparation on the subject should be thorough. I suggest you to do the following to prepare the section:
Read newspapers daily

The cutoff is high (based on the difficulty level), therefore, aim at scoring full marks in Quantitative and Verbal section.

The NET exam is conducted for the selection of the candidates for assistant professor posts or junior research fellowship in top most institutes of India.
There is no age limit for the assistant professor posts while candidates applying for Junior Research Fellowship should be below 28 years old.
