It was established in 1983 and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).Admission to NSUT is based on entrance exams. Candidates with valid scores in national-level and university-level entrance exams, such as CUET-UG, CAT, and JEE-Main, will be shortlisted for the counseling process. 

For the BTech program, the university selects students based on JEE Main ranks and JAC Delhi counseling. There are six rounds of counseling, and seat allocation is based on JEE Main scores, seat availability, and reservation criteria.F

For example, for ME and MT courses, candidates must clear GATE and the NSUT Test for admission.

Netaji Subhas University of Technology was founded in 1983 as the Delhi Institute of Technology that was affiliated to the University of Delhi. In 2018 the institute gained university status and its current name. The university' s campuses are located in Dwarka, in India.
