With a 7.7% acceptance rate, New York University is quite hard to get into for international students. The university follows a stringent approach while selecting candidates for UG and PG programs. The students must try to gain some work experience, involved in volunteer work and extracurricular activities to add an additional quality to their resume. The university gives weightage to factors such as the rigor of secondary school records, academic GPA, recommendations, application essays, and more.

This shows that the university's position improved in the US specific rankings in the year 2025. As per the Times Higher Education rankings for 2025, NYU ranks at #19 position in the U.S. for 2025.
