The National Institute of Design (NID) declared the NID DAT 2024 seat allotment of M.Des programme for Round 2 on June 4, 2024. The link to download the seat allotment is given below. Log-in to the portal using your email id and date of birth. Candidates who are allotted seats have to confirm their seats, pay the non-refundable fees, and upload documents by June 10, 2024 (midnight). Earlier, NID DAT 2024 seat allotment (Round I) for the B.Des programme was declared on May 29, 2024. The campus preference submission window was open from May 21 (4 pm) till May 23, 2024 (4 pm).The token seat confirmation fee is

It is difficult to put a specific number as to how many sample papes one needs to solve. But that being said, you must try at least 10 sample papers. Also, make sure that the sample papers covers the entire syllabus and are not repetitative.
For instance, some sample papers may contain the same types of questions, though the language may be altered a bit.
If you need to get the maximum out of the sample papers, their content needs to be different.
Also, along with sample papers solve practice questions, typically given at the end of a chapter or book.

NID DAT is one of the toughest entrance exams in the land. Also, given the large number of applicants, it is highely competitive.
So, to have a chance of scoring a good score in the exam and be in the contetion for a seat in one of the top NIDs, one needs to ensure their preparation is full proof.
Now unless you solve sample papers, there is no way to evaluate your preparedness for the exam. For instance, you may have completed the textual books and are confident about your ability to solve a proble. But what will you do if on exam do you find out that theoritical knowledge can take you only so far.

A candidate would ideally need around 6 months or so to prepare for the NID DAT exam. This time frame will allow the candidate to go through each topic in depth and prepare for the exam effectively. However, if the candidate has a strong grip on the fundamentals and basic concepts, it is still possible to prepare for the exam even in 3 months or less. But as the time duration shrinks, one will have to be more judicious with the use of each day and hour and be meticulous. Having a well-defined timetable in place will help matters. The timetable can include things like day-wise topics to read and revise, sample papers to be solved, etc.

The NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a two-step entrance exam. The candidate first appears in DAT Prelims. If shortlisted, the candidate has to next appear in DAT Mains.

The National Institute of Design offers candidates the opportunity to request a recheck of their NID DAT 2024 Prelims results. The result re-check window was open from May 21-22, 2024 (4 pm). Earlier, the DAT Prelims result for the B.Des programme was declared on April 4, 2024. The NID DAT 2024 (Prelims) exam was conducted on December 24, 2023. The National Institute of Design (NID) declared the B.Des DAT Mains 2024 result on May 21, 2024. The FINAL result is prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. It includes details like the sectional, total marks, and the merit rank of the candidate.
