NID Entrance Exam

It is not mandatory to take coaching to get a good rank in NID DAT. It is because the entrance exam will test the creative, drawing, and innovative skills of the candidate. Now, a coaching institute cannot exactly teach you to be creative or become innovative. Instead, with a little effort these skills can learn these skills yourself. Also, a major thrust of the design aptitude test is to evaluate the drawing skills of the candidate. So, make it a point to work on your design skills, including learning how to draw lines, shadow, figure, gesture, cartoon drawing, etc. When practicing drawing, also keep a tab on the drawing speed, as it will help you complete the paper in the allotted time.

Along with following the official NID DAT exam pattern and syllabus, do these tasks to prepare for the NID Entrance exam:

• Solve sample papers - You can start solving sample papers very early on in your preparation, for instance, after completing a chapter.
• Solve previous years' papers - This exercise will help you get an idea about the nature and structure of the exam, including difficulty level, types of questions asked, marking scheme, and much more.
• Take mock tests - Mocks are usually taken closer to the exam date. It will help you fine-tune your preparation and fix the mental aspect of taking an entrance exam.
• Take notes during study - This exercise will not only help you stay focused, but also help you jot down important and difficult points. This, in turn will make revision easier and quicker.

The application form for NID DAT 2025 will open tentatively in September 2024. The application will open online at the NID admission portal. The direct link to fill out the form will be provided on this page. To fill out the NID that 2025 application form, click on the application link. A registration form will open; get registered by entering your email id and mobile number. Then fill in all their details, upload documents, pay the application fee and submit the form. Make sure to enter only correct and verificable information, as all details will be checked during the NID counseling process. If a candidate is found to be using counterfeit data, he or she stands to be disqualified. The application fees for NID that is INR 3000. The fee has to be paid online.

Exam officials will also allow candidates to edit the application form after the application window closed.

The NID DAT 2025 (Prelims) exam will be conducted in 22 cities across India. The candidate has to select their choice of exam centre at the time of filling out the NID DAT 2024 application form. The details of the exam centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the admit card, which will also contain exam centre reporting time, and other exam-day guidelines.

Meanwhile, NID DAT Mains 2025 exam for the B. Des programme will be conducted in the following cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Gandhinagar, Kolkata & Kurukshetra. The candidate will be given the option to select the exam city around April 2025. The details of the exam centre, including name and address and reporting time will be mentioned in the NID DAT 2024 admit card. 

No, NID application fee once paid is not refunded under any circumstances. So, before filling out the form, the candidate must be sure whether they want to appear in the exam or not. Des programme General, General EWS, OBC NCL candidates need to pay INR 3,000 SC, ST, Open PwD, Open NCL PwD, SC PwD, ST PwD need to pay INR 1,500 NID Application Fee for M.Des Course Admissions (One Discipline) General, General EWS, OBC NCL has to pay INR 3,000 SC, ST, Open PwD, Open NCL PwD, SC PwD, ST PwD candidates must pay INR 1,500 NID Application Fee for M.Des Course Admissions (Two Disciplines) General, General EWS, OBC NCL candidates need to pay INR 6,000 SC, ST, Open PwD, Open NCL PwD, SC PwD, and ST PwD candidates need to pay INR 3,000.

The National Institute of Design (NID) will also release a admission handbook for the B.Des and M.Des program.

The admission handbook will contain key details pertaining to eligibility criteria, application process, fee, eligibility criteria, reservation, seat matrix, and much more.

So, it is recommended that the candidate carefully goes through the NID DAT 2025 admission handbook before filling out the application form.

Note that NID 2025 application edit window will be open once application closes. However, the candidate will be allowed to edit only a handful of information.
