NIOS is National Institute of Open Schooling. The NIOS is a national board that administers examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations of open schools similar to the CBSE and the CISCE to increase literacy and provide education to rural areas. It also offers vocational courses after the high school. Despite being established for distance education, NIOS provides a formal and regular secondary and Senior Secondary programme equivalent to CBSE.

NIOS is a recognised body and is accepted everywhere. You are eligible for admission procedure in Delhi University as well as IPU.

Aspiring candidates should be born on or after July 1, 1996. Note: As proof of age, only High School/ SSC/X Certificate will be accepted. This is the eligibility criteria for VIT.

Any government university/college will definitely accept the NIOS student because NIOS is itself a government recognised institution. However, for private colleges, it all depends upon theory discretion. Ideally, they should, but they do not.

NIOS means (National Institute of Open Schooling) its under in ministry human resource development (MHRD) government. Of India its a central government. Institute type of distance programme its provided 10th and +2 level courses and its valid in all over India.
