There is a relaxation for SC candidates in the fees. You don't have to pay tuition fees which constitute the major part of the fees.

Very good, overall. Briefing you with a few positive points: The environment here, the crowd, the kind of students & activities is the best thing. There's no drug-abuse, no political nuisance, no ragging nothing. There's always a competitive spirit among the students since they're all good rank holders in the JEE. Plus, controlled by the MHRD, Central Govt. gives it enough funds for the infrastructure & equipment. Negative: the administration is weak, student grievance department is poor plus lack of good faculty for the first year students.

Yes, of course. Infact, many students try to change it. But you'll need to score a good grade point for that. For example, if you are a student of general category, you need a CGPA around 8.5 in first year to get mechanical in second year.
