NIT Surathkal grants admission to two MSc courses based on candidates' performance in the IIT JAM entrance exam, followed by the CCMN counselling process. For 2025 admission, the Round 1 closing ranks varied between 868 and 920 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Of all the MSc specialisations, the one with the lowest cutoff rank of 868 was the MSc in Chemistry. NIT Surathkal JEE Main cutoff 2025 for Round 1 has been released for different categories of students belonging to the AI and HS quotas. If you belong to the General AI quota, the first round closing ranks for NIT Surathkal varied between 1528 and 25160 for B.Tech. admission across multiple specialisations. NIT Surathkal GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. The most competitive course was M.Tech in CSE. The Cutoff score for CSE stood at 742, for the General AI category candidates. Therefore, candidate with the Cutoff score of 741 cannot get CSE at NIT Surathkal. However, Cutoff score of 741 can be considered for various other courses such as M.Tech in IT, M.Tech in VLSI Design, etc. 

For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff score for CSE closed at 701. Candidates can refer to the table provided in this section to view the NIT Surathkal M.Tech Cutoff scores for different categories.

For OBC category, the closing rank for NIT Surathkal cutoff 2023 for Round 1 Seat Allotment is 158. During the NIT Surathkal OBC 2023 cutoff, the Last Round closing rank for B.Tech in CSE was 4070 for the AI category students. For the Home State Quota, B.Tech in CSE cutoff closed at 12354. Considering the Last Round cutoff for OBC, the most competitive course was B.Tech in Information Technology. The second most competitive BTech course for the OBC category was B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence with the Last Round closing rank of 1236 for the AI Quota. For the Home State Quota, the Last Round cutoff for the same course stood at 4249.

NIT Surathkal is a public/government college. It was established in 1956. It is ranked 26th under the engineering category according to NIRF 2023. For taking admission in NIT Surathkal JEE Mains is taken by the candidate and the admission is based on the merit list released by the college. The Cut offf for taking admission in the NIT Surathkal falls under 24400 for general category and cutt off for SC/ST Category is around 2300, and for OBC Category it falls under 23500. IN 6th cut off rounds the last cutt off range was 2362. So, There are less chances that one can get admision with the rank between 23000-24000
