The needed rank varies branch and category wise In case of top branches like Computer Science, the cutoff remains usually below 2,000 for general category students. National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) offers a two-year MBA course at the PG level. Aspirants get admitted based on a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score. Apart from this, candidates currently in the final year of the UG course and having cleared CAT are also eligible to apply. To be eligible, candidates must have passed Undergraduate Degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 60% from recognised university. The CAT cut off 2023 for General All India category was 80 percentile. The cutoff for the past few years 2022, 2021 and 2020 have remained the same with 80 percentile.

You may choose to pursue a career in civil engineering, chemical engineering production engineering or metallurgical and materials engineering, depending on current trends. Because they usually have higher cutoffs it may be difficult to get into core areas like computer science, electronics, or mechanical engineering.
