To get admission in NIT, you should score a minimum of 200 marks in JEE Mains. To get admission in NIT, Trichy, you should score more than 230 marks.

I am sorry to say but our insitute has a minimum cutoff of 60% in academics. So, you can't apply even if you get good score in CAT.

DoMS, NIT Trichy accepts CAT score only.Cutoff score for previous year varied between 90-95 based upon experience level.

I think 230+ will be a secured score.

Your CAT score is of far more important than your previous academics. Generally, a fresher need to have 92-95 percentile and it will be relaxed if you have work experience.

The cutoff for joining NIT Trichy varies based on a person's job experience, interview and group discussion performances apart from CAT percentile . However if you are a fresher and an open category student generally the cutoff is around 90-95 percentile.

IIIT Hyderabad is an excellent institute for B.Tech in CSE.

If you have a placement offer in hand , it is not a big issue in not clearing CAT this year. You can work for 2-3 years and then attempt CAT through which you can get into top institute.
