To be eligible for admission to the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme at Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate and English as a subject from a recognised board, and be at least 17 years old. Must have passed the 10+2 examination with English as a subject from a recognised board like CBSE, ISC, or Karnataka 2nd PUC

To get admission to BSc (Nursing) course at NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for the course. Candidates who passed Class 12 with minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and passed in English individually are eligible to apply for the course.
They must also have completed 17 years of age as of December 31 of the year of admission. Eligible candidates can apply online on the official website of the NUINS Mangalore. Further, the institute will select candidates based on their past academic records and application.

Candidates who are willing to get admission to MSc at NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
- Candidates must pass BSc Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing in an institution recognised by Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of 55% aggregate.
- The candidate must have minimum of 1 year of work experience after registration with the Nursing Council (in case of BSc Nursing) and one year prior or after PB BSc Nursing.
