Data Science is the new addition to the IIT Palakkad B.Tech programme which was introduced in 2022. The curriculum includes core courses that cover topics such as mathematics, Probability and Statistics computational thinking, data management, modelling and assessment, and ethics, providing a strong foundation in these subjects.

Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design. To be eligible for the MTech programme at IIT Palakkad candidates need graduation with 60%. The selection of the candidates who are eligible for the MTech programme happens through GATE and COAP Counselling.
