Both IIT Palakkad and NIT Tiruchirappalli are one of the top-ranked institutions present in India. NIT Tiruchirappalli is ranked eighth by NIRF 2022 under the Engineering category whereas, IIT Palakkad is ranked 68 by NIRF 2022 under the Engineering category. Both colleges have great faculty and infrastructure for teaching the CSE course. The placement opportunities provided by both colleges are also great. Ultimately, The decision lies on the student according to what he/she is actually looking for in a college or university.

IIT Palakkad is one of the third generation IITs in India. It is currently being operated from the temporary campus at the Ahalia Integrated Campus in Kozhippara, Palakkad and the permanent campus in Kanjikode. About 500-acre of land in Pudussery village of the Palakkad district, Kerala, is planned for the permanent campus of IIT Palakkad.
