No, Pandit Deendayal Energy University is not a Govt University. PDEU was established in 2007 as a private institute by the Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI) which itself was part of the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. The institute currently stands as one of only two private universities that have been granted autonomy by the UGC.
