No, Pandit Deendayal Energy University is not a Govt University. PDEU was established in 2007 as a private institute by the Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI) which itself was part of the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. The institute currently stands as one of only two private universities that have been granted autonomy by the UGC.

Yes, Pandit Deendayal Energy University has been recognised and approved by a range of national bodies such as the University Grants Comission, Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation, and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology,   (Government of India). The university has also been approved by the NBA and is a member of the AIU.

The Pandit Deendayal Energy University BTech curriculum includes both core and elective courses. Besides this, the applicants also study the JEE Main/ GUJCET syllabus to prepare for the selection process. Additionally, the PDEU BTech course curriculum follows a semester system for all its programmes, including the BTech.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University offers Merit Scholarships to make higher education more accessible for meritrious candidates. There is no eligibility restriction related to the annual income of candidate to avail the scholarship. A total of four candidates are shortlisted for the scholarship given they have scored more than 85 percentile in management entrance exams CAT or XAT. Candidates recieving this scholarship will get 50% scholarship waiver from their tuition fee.

The Executive MBA course at PDEU SoM is divided into a total of four semesters. Candidates enrolled in the course are required to study 6 subjects per semester. Pandit Deendayal Energy University offers a two-year Executive MBA course for candidates wishing to enter the field of Management and Business. The eligibility criteria for the Executibe MBA programme at SoM PDEU is as follows: 

  • Candidates must have a recognised UG degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate
  • A relaxation of 5% in the required UG aggregate is given to candidates from the reserved category
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years of work-experience after acquiring their UG degree
