Candidates wishing to secure admissions to the Panjab University BTech programme are required to have a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12. Candidates must also appear for JEE Main and the Counselling that is conducted by the univeristy to secure a seat in the programme.
Candidates are required to follow the mentioned admisison process to get a chance at securing a seat into the programme.

Candidates seeking admission to BSc at Panjab University are required to meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination with at least 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam and passing marks in English.

Candidates seeking admission to Panjab University BCom course are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who have either passed Class 12 examination or BCom Part- I (old scheme) of Panjab University with at least 45% aggregate or who have passed the Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate or any other equivalent examination can apply for admission to the BCom programme offered at Panjab University.

Academic Performance: Applicants failing to meet the GATE qualification criteria are required to have 60% marks in a course equivalent to B.E/B.Tech to be offered admission provided there are unoccupied seats after giving admissions to GATE-qualified candidates.
Entrance Exam: In some specializations admission can also be provided on the basis of Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU CET) in postgraduate courses.

To be eligible for BA LLB from Panjab University, any candidate who has already passed or is in Class 12, under CBSE or any other recognised board, can appear for the university-level entrance exam. The admission for candidates who are in Class 12 will be provisional and will stand cancelled if they fail to satisfy the requisite eligibility conditions laid down by Panjab University by the date fixed for the admission. For final admission, however, students must have completed Class 12 with 50% aggregate.
