Clinical research refers to a study conducted to assess a potential treatment and its effect on human beings. A Diploma in Clinical Research is usually a one-year course in India, while a Master's degree is usually of two years' duration. It would totally depend on the duration of your Diploma, credibility of the organisation, and purpose of applying with a Diploma. In the USA, a degree course is equivalent to a three-year course, and a master's degree is equivalent to a two-year course. Therefore, a Diploma in clinical research won't be accepted as equivalent to a master's in the USA. In Canada, a Diploma in Clinical Research is equivalent to a Master's in Clinical Research. However, it is for Canadian universities in general; for the ICMR, it may not be counted as equivalent if the duration of the course is less than two years.

The major part of the course deals with the preparation of patients before any surgery and the foundation of Anaesthesia methods. The eligibility of the exam is passing 10+2 with Physics Chemistry and Biology as their subjects with a minimum 50% marks and above with a recognised board.
