Essentially, write GRE followed by an English test that is required. The other way which is acceptable by places, such as Australia is write a paper as a co-author and present it along with your statement of purpose to the professor you want to.

After clearing the NET exam without a Ph.D, you can become an assistant professor, not a professor. If you have a good work experience like 8-15 years experience in the teaching field, you can become an associate professor.
