Candidates with Masters degree in Civil / Environmental / Mechanical / Chemical / Agricultural Engineering or in a related engineering branch are eligible for PhD in Environmental Engineering in majority of Indian Universities. Few Universities allows exceptional graduate students of above mentioned branches direct admission in PhD. You may refer to target university websites for minimum cut off marks for admission in PhD.

For above education, Department of Psychology, Ferguson College, Pune, and Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning is the best choice. Choice of Sikkim Manipal is all-time great for distance learning. The courses are also offered in Savitribai Phule Pune University for Ph.D. and the University of Mumbai for MA in psychology.

Hi Fozia,
Every university in Germany is good for research, some are extremely competitive to get in. Also, it matters as to which subject you want to deal with. Some names are TU Berlin, TU Munich, Ruprecht Karls University Heidelberg, Freie University Berlin, RWTH Aachen, etc.

Hi Aakib, you have to check university websites for Ph.D notifications, the admission process is different than other conventional courses. You must get in touch with the department supervisors and share your research proposal, a rigorous follow up has to be done, not every university or the supervisor will respond so you have to research well and be proactive, they will get back if they like what you wrote. Additional tests like GRE or GMAT may be required to pursue the programme in the US.

Officially, no university will accept you without qualifying their entrance examinations or by interview. Unofficially, some mid-level universities can allow you to work with their faculty for some time. If they find you capable then too, you have to sit for the examination, but you are more or less guaranteed a Ph.D position. However, it is difficult to attain a scholarship in such cases.
You should keep checking for project openings. Most of the time, when there is a project, only an interview is taken. If you can qualify that, you can do Ph.D.

Yes, although IIMs are currently societies, they are unable to offer a formal doctorate, but there exists an FPM (Fellow Programme). This is analogous to the relation between PGP and MBA.
It is well-regarded in India and outside as well. And, you will be able to get the best jobs and academic positions at least in India for sure (those available to a Ph.D student). Also, studying in one of the IIMs myself, I would say that there is no dearth of resources.
