Pharm.D is not offered at Government Medical College & Hospital, Cuddalore (formerly Rajah Muthiah Medical College) — it's a medical college, not a Pharm.D institute .

In India, admissions to PharmD programs normally open in June and July and deadlines may come as late in July or early August. But particular dates are different depending on the university and state-level entrance (such as TS EAMCET, Andhra Pradesh EAMCET, MHT CET, GPAT, NEET, KCET). To determine exact admission requirements and schedules, it is important to visit personal college websites and watch out state common entrance tests notifications on the 2025-2026 school year.

Pharm.D is a six-year professional programme combining five years of academic study with one year of clinical internship. It focuses on clinical pharmacy, therapeutics, drug interactions, and hospital pharmacy training. The course is recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India and equips graduates to work as clinical pharmacists in hospitals or pharmaceutical industries. While Pharm.D holders use the “Dr.” prefix professionally due to their clinical expertise, it is not equivalent to an MBBS degree. Career paths include working in hospital pharmacies, pharmacovigilance, and pursuing research or higher studies in healthcare fields.

Most Pharm.D admissions don't require NEET; they run through state CETs or institute merit lists. Still, a few private universities optionally accept NEET scores: think JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Mysuru), SRM, Dr. MGR University, Manipal (usually has its own process), PES, Sri Ramachandra Institute. Your best tactic: treat NEET as a plus, not a gatekeeper, and apply via each university's own portal / counselling. Make sure labs, hospital tie-ups, Pharm.D internship year quality, and clinical exposure trump the brand name alone.

There are few government colleges in Telangana which do Pharm.D. There are lots of private institutions offering this course but some of the notable government institutions offering the course include the University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH), Hyderabad and Kakatiya University, Warangal. NIPER Hyderabad also provides doctoral degree in pharmacy degrees but is more research oriented and higher specializations.
