Hi,
In my opinion, both the subjects cannot be offered as core. For under graduate degree. The best is that you can check for the major and minors where you can choose a subject of your interest along with the core subject in which you want to pursue your career. The baskets of subjects from which you can pick your minors or open electives is offered at the time of your admission. This way you can have your core subject along with something about which you are passionate
