There are certain similarities between cinematography and photography, like how to use light, composition, and lens choice, but the nature of the courses is different: one is to capture a single moment, while the other is to make moving images that tell a story. The Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) offers both certificate and degree courses at a fair price.

Fine arts are created for aesthetic or intellectual value, without a practical purpose, such as painting, sculpture, and drawing. Applied arts, conversely, involve using design and decoration to create functional, everyday objects that are also aesthetically pleasing, including fields like graphic design, fashion design, and interior design.

Ahmedabad offers a modest yet vibrant photography education scene, with around nine prominent photography institutions, of which about four are privately owned . These include specialist institutes like Kalapurnam Institute, International School of Design (ISD), Ahmedabad, Skyblue Institute of Design, Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University, and Reliance Education's VFX & Animation Academy . While there is no dedicated undergraduate degree in photography such as a B.Sc., many of these institutions offer certificate, diploma, or short-term professional photography courses at the post?12th level .
