There are a number of institutes that provide courses in photography in Ahmedabad and include workshops, Diploma and also degree course. Not all of them are conventional colleges, but Shiksha.com professes 9 best photography colleges/institutes in the list. There are big names like the Kalapurnam Institute, Institute For Photography & Video Film Making- Excellence (IPE India), Varun Patel Photography Institute and Photo Technic Interactive, among others that offer varied course of study to budding photographers.

There are a number of institutes which offer photography courses in Ahmedabad over a short period to long term Diploma and degree course. It might not be having much conventional type of college that exclusively teaches photography in the university sense but there are not less than 9 best places to study photography i.e. institutes/colleges as reported by Shiksha.com. He can go for Diploma in photography . As he is good in drawing he also can go for graphics design and bachelor's of Fine arts

No, there's no need to gain any prior experience or knowledge to pursue a Camera Handling and Lighting course in India. You can apply for any Diploma or Certificate programme after Class 12 or graduation to learn Camera techniques.
