Honestly the biggest mistake people make is waiting until they feel "ready" to speak. That day never comes.
What actually works is daily small practice — not big sessions. Talk to yourself while commuting. Describe what you're doing out loud. Watch one YouTube video in English and repeat sentences after the speaker. Do this for 30 days and you'll notice a real difference in your confidence.
Also, stop focusing only on grammar. Spoken English is about chunks and rhythm, not perfect sentences. "I'll get back to you on that." "Could you say that again?" "I think what you mean is." — these small ready-made phrases are what fluent speaker

Yes, often.
In the B.A Corporate Communication at IILM University, Gurugram students are required to give formal presentations, impromptu speeches, and even mock press conferences. One of my friends used to be terrified of speaking in front of people, but after doing multiple roleplays (like pretending I was a CEO addressing angry shareholders!), she got so much better!
The feedback from professors and peers is also quite constructive too.

I had major stage fear, but I got chances to host events, give class presentations, and even be part of panel discussions. The feedback is supportive, not scary — and now I actually enjoy the mic!
