There are very few M.Tech seats which are offered at PI Institute of Technology, Pune and it reflects the selective admission criteria. On an average such admission is given to about 60 to 70 students for all its combined specializations as M.Tech such as Computer Engineering, Data Sciences, etc., but the exact numbers differ every year.

Each branch has an intake of around 18 to 25 students, as per AICTE approvals and available infrastructure. For 2023, Computer Engineering had a total of 25 seats in Round Number 1 Counseling as similar numbers will have for a few other streams.

As per the branch and market demand, the average package for M.Tech students studying at PICT Pune, varies.

For the placement season 2022-2023, the overall average package for post-graduate students was nearly about 8 to 10 Lacs per annum, with Computer Engineering and Data Sciences seeing slightly higher averages at nearly 10 to 12 Lakh.

the highest performers had packages up to 30 plus Lacs by companies like Amazon and Microsoft, but those were numbers outside the average. That would reflect what is strong in terms of recruitments from IT, software development, and data analytical jobs, and a number of companies like Infosys, TCS, and

There is a highly respected standing of the PI Institute of Technology, Pune, in the state of Maharashtra among all engineering colleges nationwide. Exact rankings vary, though ranking from any source places this education among the top 100-150 engineering institutions.

Sometimes PICT is ranked above Vishwakarma Institute but below College of Engineering Pune in comparison to other Pune schools. In 2023, placement records and academic focus on IT and computer engineering boosted the standing of PICT.

Yes, GATE is not a must to join in M.Tech at PICT Pune, but this does not apply to most of the cases. PICT has a GATE entrance for the most part because that is the universal requirement for M.Tech programs in India.

For non-GATE candidates, sponsored category and possibly through institute-level seats are open for consideration. This usually requires relevant work experience (2+ years in an industry) and employer sponsorship or PICT entrance test (this option is very rare and poorly advertised). Almost all the seats are GATE seats, hence non-GATE aspirants stand no chance but to have alternative requirements placed by the institute to

The cutoff scores for M.Tech in PICT Pune vary from specialisation to specialisation and category to category. For the 2023 round, the Round 1 closing rank for M.Tech in Data Sciences was 393 for candidates of General, Home-State Quota, based on GATE 2023 scores.

The specific cutoff marks are not publicly detailed in terms of exact numbers since they depend on GATE performance, but this rank talks about a competitive threshold. For Computer Engineering, the cutoff is usually higher due to demand and can also be in the range of GATE scores of 350-400 cutoffs for General candidates.

The placements in PICT Pune are generally more than what VIT Pune could provide, especially in branches relating to computers. In 2022-2023, PICT had a placement rate of about 93.64%, with means of about 10.11 LPA and a high of 91 LPA.

This indicates strong industry links, as companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs recruit often from PICT. On the other hand, VIT Pune had a placement record of about 83% in 2023, averaging a package of 7.97 LPA, with the highest being 41 LPA.

VIT manages to get companies like Infosys and Tata Technologies coming in, but the placement stats are slightly lower. PICT focuses on IT and software, so
