A coffee Tasting career is a comparatively new career option in India but it has good scope if you have a natural love for coffee and want to equip yourself with the nuances of coffee making and tastes of coffee. The WTO era has bought in an extra amount of awareness in the field of food safety and the environment, unlike in earlier days. So consumers, producers, and exporters are all equally concerned with the quality of coffee they are dealing with. So as a customer the way you like to have your cuppa is much more influenced by the way how its quality was maintained throughout its production stages. So as a new-age career Coffee taster's career is a challenging as well as an interesting career option. Coffee Board of India has created and organized a Post Graduate Degree course to support the requirement of the Indian Coffee Industry for trained personnel like coffee testers and Expert coffee quality managers. The aim of the PGDCQM course is to create trained personnel with special aptitude and skills. A well-accepted quality world over, Coffee quality testing/evaluation will now be a standard practice in the Indian Coffee industry. As per the Coffee Board of India declaration students of the PGDCQM course, previous batches got suitable jobs with attractive remuneration in Indian Coffee companies.

Now, you are in NDT technician, it is actually a place where all the productions assembly stage. Like all castes forged formed rolled, bend, and fabricated products from different mills join here. Each mill has its own QA/QC engineers. In construction many material reception, on going work inspection like visual check of welding and installation of equipment, motors, piping supports fittings, hydro test pneumatic test till commission, also documentation is considered in Quality Control. I suggest that Civil Engineering via B.Tech/B.E is one good option as it is itself in Construction field/engineering. So, you can go for it.

In order to improve your position in the field of quality analysis, firstly shortlist what is it that you are looking for doing more than what is offered right now. Do ask the present organisation if you could take up senior posts or more responsibility, if any. Take up a couple of online courses. Many could be free too. Looking at industry standards and expectations for further roles up the ladder in quality analysis. Even by studying intently the job descriptions on job sites, educate yourself what to look forward to. Then take up coaching - self or otherwise.
Say, some related areas to equip with could be (there are many more, these are just examples):
SQL
Software development
Java
Software testing
Scrum
Python
Project management
Once you are confident, then make the smooth transition. You could do with either by applying on websites like Naukri, Linkedin, Monster, or better through references.
Keep about 6 months for the transition and don't make it too swift.
