MSRIT is better.
The college offers good placements, and the policy ensures that all students get equal opportunity to get placed. The placement cell is very cooperative. The companies visit the campus to recruit the students in all domains. Companies like Deloitte, Honeywell, Societe Generale, KPMG, Goldman Sachs, ICICI, HSBC, HDFC are among some of them. The placements are very similar in the colleges mentioned, this is because all three are in Bangalore and the same companies visit these campuses to recruit students. You may have an odd company visiting only one of these campuses but the average salary is the same and the same profiles are offered at all of them. But RVCE ranking is high compare to MSRIT

Talking of Mechanical Engineering:
Thanks to the reservation system, it depends on your caste. If you're from SC/ST, a rank of somewhere around 200 would be enough. If you belong to the OBC categories then a rank of around 100150 would do. Here comes the big one!
If you're from general category, you need to have a rank of around 25! Yes it's 25 only. Speaking of other branches, you can just take twice the ranks I mentioned. Visit for details: http://www.btechadmission.co.in/.
