The candidates cannot secure a seat in any engineering college without appearing for the JEE exam. The seats are given based on the score of the JEE. The candidates after giving the JEE Exam need to check the merit list of the college and after clearing the exam the candidates are eligible for counselling. Yes, SVNIT offers a merit-cum means scholarship for students belonging to minority communities. This scholarship is offered to minority students with a total family income of up to INR 2.50 LPA. Out of the total number of scholarships, 30% is reserved for girls of each minority. These scholarships are transferrable to male students of that community in case of non-availability of female candidates in that community in the concerned state.
