An individual with 89% in Tamil Nadu +2 and above can compete at SASTRA University under Stream 2 for B.Tech courses.

 Stream 2 takes the aggregate in +2 normalized with the marks of students from the same board for the highest rank to fill the seats. Therefore, since reserved 30% of total seats, this score stands competitively when it comes to overall merit and normalization.

The following requirements are part of SASTRA Chennai's BTech admissions process: Stream 2 applicants—which make up 30% of all admissions—are accepted based on their normalised cumulative Class 12 scores. To be admitted to SASTRA's BTech curriculum, applicants must have received at least a 60% aggregate in their Class 12 examinations. Candidates must have successfully completed their higher secondary education (10+2), with mathematics, physics, and chemistry serving as mandatory subjects. Additionally, after the application process begins, admission is determined by the qualifying degree, board scores, and preference. Seventy percent of all BTech admissions at SASTRA University are based on the class 12th equivalent marks and JEE Main results.
