Admission to SASTRA M.Tech is done on the basis of merit in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). After the conclusion of application process, the deemed-to-be-university send provisional admission letters to the applicants by email, individually.

SASTRA Chennai carries out application and admission process in completely online mode. It is done to reduce carbon footprint and increase transparency. Thus, aspirants need to visit the SASTRA official website to submit the application form.

Currently, SASTRA Chennai admission is not open. As per external sources, the last date to apply for BTech courses was Jun 24 and Jun 14 for the integrated law programmes. Candidates can visit the university official website for more information on the admission schedule.

Admission to SASTRA Chennai (Deemed to be University) is entrance-based. Some of the national-level exams accepted are CUET/JEE Main/XAT,  CAT,  CMAT, etc. It is also crucial that the aspirants meet the course-specific minimum eligibility criteria. SASTRA University application process for all programmes, such as BCA was conducted in both online and offline modes. However, starting 2022, the process has shifted completely to online mode. Aspirants seeking admission to BCA can visit the official website of the deemed university, apply online and pay the application fee. As per the data collated from various unofficial sources and NIRF report 2023, the total tuition fee of INR 6 Lacs for its complete BTech course gives students the opportunity to get a median salary of INR 7.5 LPA. Hence, with respect to ROI, it can be considered a decent option. Additionally, for Engineering courses, the deemed university comes under the top 50 institutes in India (by NIRF, Ministry of Education, which makes again makes it a decent option among students. Yes, in addition to regular, full-time and part-time courses, SASTRA Deemed University also has a Directorate for Online and Distance Education (ODE) that offers numerous UG and PG courses via distance/online mode.

BCA/ BBA in Logistics/ BCom (Online)

A pass in Class 12 with Mathematics and Statistics as subjects from a recognised board of education

BFA in Bharatnatyam (ODL)

- A pass in Class 12 or Diploma in Dance from a recognised institute including Nrithyodaya - At least 3 years of Bharatnatyam learning experience

MFA in Bharatanatyam (ODL)

- Any bachelor’s degree from a recognised institute - At least 7 years of Bharatnatyam learning experience
