GRE is for PG or Masters level studies in USA. SAT is for undergraduate. First learn about the differences and decide what you want to study.

You would be getting the report cards from your school. Just make sure the university you are applying might ask for a character certificate and an affidavit from your school, so make sure you get it as well.

American Universities don't see only SAT and TOEFL scores. They are interested in whole personality. They see your academic record, extracurricular activities, essay SAT and TOEFL score. You have to do your best in all in these factor.

For getting admission in MIT and other top universities, like Havard you have to take at least 1500 in SAT.

There are some minor changes in new SAT. The essay became optional, therefore it consist of 1600 marks. And, now it consists only two sections.

First of all, check the requirements for the course for which you are applying. Then take the test like GRE TOEFL or SAT. Apply before the deadline and pay the application fee.

Many NITs accept SAT scores under the DASA stream, and many other private colleges also accept the score.

Hi Shreesh,
When you give your SAT, the scores will be automatically sent to the universities you choose. The university will evaluate your overall application alongwith SAT and decide whether to give you scholarship or not, they will compare your application with other applicants and will check if you deserve a spot in their university. It's an internal decision and many factors like scores, academic percentile, extracurricular activities etc are checked. Its on merit basis basically. Visit university websites and read about the financial aid. Some top universities may give on financial background but rare. To be in a competitive zone
