Bharathiar University admission to the PG course is through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). This state-level entrance exam is conducted by Anna University. Eligible students who submitted application on time are further shortlisted based on scores in TANCET. Candidates who have secured 35 percent of marks in each paper shall be declared to have passed the examination

The study materials are provided to the students in the form of CDs and online notes for hassle-free use of course materials. The course is prepared in the format prescribed by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) viz., SIM. If any student has a query, they can contact the School of Distance Education between 9:45 am and 5:30 pm on all working days (Monday- Saturday).

Spot admission is done for all courses in the office of the School of Distance Education at Bharathiar University campus and other centres. For spot admission, candidates are required to submit their duly filled in application form along with all relevant certificates in original, their photocopies, Bank Challan or Demand Draft for the course fee in full or first installment. The candidates also need to hand over the original certificates and documents to the authorities to complete the admission process.

This university's School of  Distance Education offers MBA across 21 specialisations which include Marketing Management, Logistics and SCM, Human Resource Management, International Business, Project Management, Retail Management, among others. 

According to the official website, the fee for all BBA specialisations range from Rs 10,500 to19,000. 

MSc programme consists of 16 specialisations which include Applied Psychology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Visual communications, among others.
