For B.Arch admissions, candidates must have to appear for the JEE Main entrance exam and participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. For M.Arch/M.Plan admissions, they need to register for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and participate in CCMT (Centralized Counseling and Admission for Technology). For Ph.D. admissions, candidates need to download and fill out the application form available on the SPAV official website.

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. SPA Vijayawada - School of Planning and Architecture offers BArch, MArch, MPlan, BPlan, MDes and PhD courses. The basic eligibility criteria for each course require the student to have a minimum of 45% in the previous qualification. Along with this, the student needs to have a minimum valid score in the respective exam. Candidates meeting all the admission requirements can apply by appearing for the respective counseling or directly filling out the admission form.

Eligible students will have to appear either for JEE Mains or for the NATA exam and score valid marks to be eligible for the course. Through JoSAA, in the year 2025, SPA Vijayawada has provided requirements to the candidates for admission to the B.Arch program, such as 10th and 12th marks sheets, JEE Main Paper 2 or NATA scorecard, school living/ transfer certificate, category certification (for OBC/SC/ST), income certificate (in case of EWS or scholarships), domicile certificate (if required), along with two passport-sized photographs. A valid ID proof (Aadhaar) is also to be included.
Upload scanned copies (PDF/JPEG, <2MB) on JoSAA portal during registration period (say Jun-July 2025; fee: INR 350). It is then visited by hopefuls at the reporting centers for the physical verification process after a seat has been allotted. Aspirants opting NATA aren't done with SPA application ; they might need to submit extra document through SPA portal.

General cutoffs for admission to the B.Arch programme in SPA Vijayawada based on JEE Main Paper 2 were around rank 1,000–5,000, while the OBC cutoffs were approximately 2,000–6,000 and for SC/ST, it was in the range of 5,000–10,000. For B.Plan program, cutoffs were slightly higher (3,000–7,000 general).
The NATA cut-off is generally in the range of 120–150/200. Cutoffs vary depending on the toughness of the exam, the number of applicants, and adv. Number of 48 B.Arch/56 B-Plan seats. The cutoffs will be announced through JoSAA counseling (July) according to the results expected in May/July for JEE Main Paper 2 (January/April)
