From my personal experience, I have found that your text books, prescribed by Boards are more important. The question papers must be based on syllabus and text books. It is a general rule for all.

As long as you are a student of Science, you can apply for Biotechnology. I would like to tell you that you have selected a very nice field, because it includes research and development which requires curious minds amongst you. If you gain your degree from any well reputed college, then definitely you are going to have great placement. I wish you all the luck.

If you are going through JEE Mains, the criteria for your eligibility is to have minimum 75 percent marks in class 12th that's it.

If you are completing your 12 with arts then you have options for further studies in arts stream where b.a is a good choice for you.
