Fashion designing is one of the most lucrative, appealing, glamorous and exciting career options in today's world. On one hand, the fashion industry satisfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other hand, it promises glamour, fame, success and a high pay package to the talented people. Provides specialization in fashion design or Fashion technology to enable the students to achieve Specific orientation towards industry requirements.
One of my friend is doing B. Sc. (Design- Fashion) from Lovely Professional University though he was a commerce student. I have seen his growth in academic as well as , as a human being, LPU provides a platform for the student to enhance their skills in sports, co-curricular, cultural activities, practical exposure, etc.
He wrote an entrance exam for Eligibility and Scholarship and on the basis of this test he got scholarship for his degree(3 years). His fees was Rs. 24500 per semester. He told me about the a student organizations of which he was a member. His team conducted a fundraising event so that they can provide useful things to a school and an old age home. Their team also took orphans to a science city tour . they had organised many free health check-up camp in villages. All these activities have improved his managing skills, time management, presentation skills. I noticed that after joining LPU he improved a lot.
He also said that university provides a platform to the students to run their own venture, a student can avail seed money for initiating the project. He is staying in a hostel because services are too good like mess facility, internet services, tv room, biometric facility and wardens are so supportive. He is also a badminton player and got a chance to play in AIU and won many prizes. He told me he was enrolled in Professional Enhancement programme and curriculum incorporates specific courses to crack the placement processes.
