Admissions to SMIT MSc programmes are open early, and students are encouraged to apply early since the institute has limited seats. Applicants can apply before appearing for their final exams. The admissions committee will take into account the marks of previous years/exams in processing the applications. Applicants who receive offer letters can join with a provisional admission and submit their results later. To retain their admission, students must have received a minimum of 55%.

Yes, SMIT, Sikkim Manipal University does offer MSc courses for two years at the postgraduate level. This course is divided into four semesters and is further offered in full-time mode. To get admission into this course, candidates are required to complete the general eligibility criteria that state candidates must complete their BSc degree in the relevant subject that they want to pursue. SMIT offers an MSc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Applications received for SMIT Sikkim BSc programmes are processed in cycles over several months, typically from October/November till June/ July. The last dates for applying are clearly indicated on the official website. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to maximize their chances. The Admissions Committee processes all applications within a few weeks and communicates its decision to the applicant without much delay. Candidates are advised to account for a 4-6 week waiting period.

The seats for BSc courses offered by SMIT can be secured only by merit in the qualifying examination. SMIT, Sikkim has no agents or middlemen for admissions. There is no donation or capitation fee of any kind. There are no management seats too for BSc coursres. Candidates are advised to apply directly to the institute through online or offline mode. They are cautioned against going through any agents.

SMIT, Sikkim, has separate hostels for boys and girls and provides accommodation to BSc students. The hostel rooms are two-seaters, well-furnished, and have attached bathrooms with hot water supply during winter. There are separate student messes for boys and Girls. Canteens & food courts are also available for vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Recreation rooms with TVs, separate gymnasiums for boys and girls, and sports facilities are available.

Yes, SMIT Sikkim does offer scholarships to BSc students on the basis of their merit (scores achieved in Class 12), economic status, sports achievements, etc. Refer to the table below for the names of scholarships offered by the institute for BSc courses along with the percentage of tuition fee concession.

SMIT Manipal University offers BSc courses in various types, such as general, honours, research and integrated courses. Tezpur University mostly offers integrated BSc courses. The total number of seats offered in BSc courses at SMIT, Manipal University is 140, whereas 13 seats are offered at Tezpur University. Conclusively, both of the institutes offers a similar number of BSc seats.

The total fee for a BSc course at Assam Don Bosco University ranges from INR 2.3 Lacs to INR 2.8 lakhs. On the other hand, SMIT, Manipal University BSc fees range from INR 1.6 Lacs to INR 7.3 lakh. Hence, Assam Don Bosco University is more affordable for BSc courses compared to SMIT. However, to consider which institute is the best option for a BSc, the fee structure can be one component that candidates can consider, but several other factors can be counted while competing with the universities, such as placement package, recognition, ranking, accreditation, etc.
