Bodoland University Highlights 2025
Bodoland University was established by Bodoland University Act 2009, passed in the Assam legislative Assembly. The present Bodoland University is an up-gradation of the Kokrajhar campus of Gauhati University to a full-fledged state University as per the provision of the Act. The university has six faculties (17 Departments) and one Centre for Studies (four centres). The Faculties are of: Languages, Social Science, Science and Technology, Commerce and Management, Humanities and Environmental Science. Bodoland University offers MBA which is approved by UGC and affiliated with AICTE.
Faculty of Languages has three Departments: Assamese, Bodo and English. Faculty of Social Sciences has three Departments: Economics, History and Political Science. Faculty of Science and Technology has seven Departments: Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science and Technology, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Zoology. Faculty of Commerce and Management has two Departments: Business Studies and Commerce. Faculty of Humanities has one Department: Education. Faculty of Environmental Studies has one Department: Geography. Centre for Studies has four Centres: Centre for Bamboo Studies, Centre for Bodo Studies, Centre for Women Studies and South and South East Asia Study Centre.

Bodoland University usually conducts Common Entrance Test for B.Ed in the last week of July. The university announce the results by the first week of August. Candidates have to qualify B.Ed CET to get admission in the B.Ed course of Bodoland University.
Bodoland University conducts a Common Entrance Test for admission to B.Ed programme. The entrance test is of a total of 100 marks consisting of multiple choice questions in General English, General Knowledge, Test of Reasoning, Numerical Ability and Teaching Aptitude. Candidates who qualify the test is shortlisted for B.Ed admission.
The total annual tuition for a three-year B.Sc. programme at Bodoland University ranges from INR 44,500 to INR 49,500 for students in the General and OBC categories. The three-year B.Sc. programme costs SC/ST students between INR 22,250 and INR 24,750 less than the regular tuition.
The tuition costs within the specified ranges may differ somewhat for various B.Sc. programmes. For instance, the cost of some specialised programmes, such as biotechnology or computer science, may be marginally more than that of core Science courses, like physics or chemistry. You may also be required to pay examination, library, computer lab, and other costs in addition to the tuition.These differ based on the programme and usually total between INR 1,000 and INR 2,000 annually.

If we compare in terms of placements where Bodoland University have crisis for placements it has almost no placements according to the reviews of the students on internet almost every student has to search for job of their own
Whereas its just opposite in SMIT Sikkim has offered they have offered 522 jobs to the batch of 377 students.A total of 67 companies participated in placement drive of SMIT Sikkim
