Nowadays, the field of video editing and videography is becoming lucrative day by day. In this era, where every business is looking to advertise their products and services through video making and promoting, the need of video editor is on the high level. The career growth would be very high if you are possed with the exceptional high valued skills that are very demanded in the industry. Much of the editing direction is provided by the director or producer overseeing the project. Video editors also make sure that audio files match the speech appearing on screen. A video editor spends large amounts of time in front of several monitors in a closed office environment. Video editors work in the film industry but are also employed by broadcasting and advertising companies.

Audio-video editing is related to the film or TV production works and carries good prospects everywhere. There are some pre-conditions that need to be favorable to make the best of a certificate in audio-video editing. I wish to make it clear that even in India or abroad, audio editing will be taken as a voice culture professional or a radio industry person. Video editing is for the editing of films, short films, TV programmes and so on. It is important to state that the learner should apply for a job to media and production companies/channels there. Audio editing should be known to the video editing but exclusive audio/sound engineering can also be a good way to get good jobs. The three questions in the certificate:
1. Is certificate course from a recognised institute?
2. Does the certificate carry a global validity/acceptance?
3. Has the certificate given enough skill-sets to the individual to start working in the field? The above answers should be the guiding lights for anyone who does one such course. Generally, a certificate course should be done either by one who has been in the field and wants a certification as well as advanced knowledge or by someone who is entering that domain. Both the places - India and abroad carry scope for the profile.

Everything is good in itself, but you have to know what you want to do. Some people like to do sound and video works and some like to do web design and development. But you will get success only when you are having interest in that, so first observe yourself and the field. Find yourself ask questions to yourself what you want, your like and dislikes, your passion and quality of your work is good in which field. When you will try to find yourself, you will get success or else if you are wasting your time finding others and their mistakes, you will get negativity and depression. This all applied when you like to work for yourself not for money. But when you come to the point of money, you have to check which option is having a good pay scale and is having more requirements in the field. So, according to me sound and video editing option is better, because in the industry you will find hundreds of companies for web design and development and thousands of employees in this field but in the field of sound and editing, situation is different. There are less number of people for sound and video editing.

For making career in cinematography and photography and even in video editing, you need to have sound theoretical and practical knowledge. Practical knowledge comes from practice of using video and photography equipment. Also, the media colleges specifically offering Diploma courses in concerned fields do offer both, but as the duration of course is one year the time for practical sessions sometimes turns out to be less. So, I would suggest to enroll yourself in college get as much exposure, as you can side by side assist any photographer or editor and gain practical knowledge from them. Also, working with them will make you aware of the working environment as well.
