High Achievers Alternate Tuition Rate scholarship at Southern Illinois University offers an alternate tuition rate to high achieving undergraduate international students. This scholarship is based on merit and awarded upon satisfying the following conditions;
- Incoming freshmen earning a composite 26 or higher on the ACT or an SAT composite score of ONLY the Critical Reading and the Mathematics composite equaling 1240 or higher is acceptable.

Southern Illinois offers scholarships for international students entering as freshman and ACT composite score of 26 or higher or an SAT score of 1240 or higher is needed. Secondly, qualifies students may access alternative tuition rate through partnerships with universities globally. Scholarships equalling the resident- rate of tuition are available for students from Indian, China and Malaysia through collaborative agreements.
