The SCTIMST Tirunal MD tuition fee is INR 63,000 per year. Hence, the total tuition fee for the three-year programme is INR 1.89 lakh. In addition to the tuition fee, MD students are required to pay various other charges, such as an admission fee of INR 2,000, an exam fee of INR 12,000, a refundable security deposit of INR 10,000, etc. The mentioned fees are sourced from the official website of the institute/sanctioning body. Candidates willing to pursue MD at SCTIMST Trivandrum must be eligible as per the age criteria specified by the institute. To be eligible for MD admission, candidates must not be over forty years of age (as of January 1, 2025, for the January session and July 1, 2025, for the July session). However, for SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit may be relaxed by a maximum of 5 years. The relaxation provided to other categories is as follows:

- The candidate must have completed MBBS or an equivalent degree from a recognised university (Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission), with a one-year compulsory rotatory internship from a medical college of repute

SCTIMST Trivandrum has maintained a notably good placement rate over the past few years. As of now, the course-specific placement rate for MD course is not available. However, the placement rate for PG (3-year) courses (including MD) was 100% in 2020, 2021 and 2022. In 2023, 27 students were placed out of a total of 34 students enrolled in various PG (3-year) courses. Hence, the placement rate in 2023 was around 79%.

In 2025, the Round 1 INI-CET cut-off for General and OBC category candidates was 1,799 and 2,526, respectively.
