Cut offs varies year by year based upon numbers of applicants, the severity level of TNEA and the number of available seats in St. Joseph's College of Engineering

You can check the cut off for the previous year from Shiksha.com, but it will always be more reliable to check for the official cut offs announced after the TNEA counselling process.

The competition is due to the fact that there is a limited number of seats in the St. Joseph's College of Engineering. The admission would majorly depend on the student's performance in the TNEA exam. High ranks in TNEA give significant chances of getting admitted in SJCE.

Other factors that can affect your eligibility include the branch applied for, category reservations, and management quota seats that may arise at an institution.

No. Right now, the way forward for B.E./ B.Tech admissions into the St. Joseph's College of Engineering is the entrance through TNEA itself. They do not permit college-based admissions, too.
TNEA admissions- ranking and seat allocations through 10+2 and JEE Main Scores where applicable. Apply TNEA during application process preferably in May-June period itself.

Generally speaking, direct admissions to the St. Joseph's College of Engineering are not possible. Admission to the undergraduate courses in engineering, SJCE, is available through counseling based on rank obtained at the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA). This means one has to appear for the TNEA exam and get good rank, thereafter participate in counselling to be granted admission to colleges.
