Although Swami Vivekananda Institute of Modern Science offers a variety of different courses under different streams, Bachelors in Science (B.Sc) and Masters in Science (M.Sc) are the best courses offered by it.
The Institute offers B.Sc and M.Sc in different specialisations, namely:

Swami Vivekananda Institute of Modern Science is a private institute, located in Sonarpur, Kolkata.
The institute offers a wide variety of courses, both at undergraduate as well as postgraduate level: BCA, BBA, BSc (across different specializations), MSc (across different specializations).
The Institute has well-equipped laboratories, a library, sports facilities, clean washrooms, lecture halls, a hygienic canteen, and friendly staff. Hostel facility is also available for students coming from students coming from far-off places. The faculty is also knowledgeable and supportive.

Every year SVIMS give scholarship to students through various government and private schemes. Most of the scholarship in SVIMS, are provided by West Bengal board. Some of the scholarship names are:
Swami Vivekananda scholarship, Navanascholarship, Paramparik scholarship, Anant merit scholarship, GP Birla scholarship etc. There are more scholarship you can find it in official website.

There is no such entrance examination conducted to get admission in SVIMS. The admission is totally based on merit basis. The eligibility criteria is 12th passed+50% mark for UG and 60% mark in graduation for PG. So, it's totally based on your marks that you'd get a seat in college or not. If your marks are good then definitely it's easy to get admission in SVIMS.

Taking your concern, I think you want to pursue your career in biotechnology. If so SVIMS would be a great choice. As per students review the biotechnology course in SVIMS is better than other life Science courses. In biotechnology the placement rate is quite higher than others. Beside this the faculty in biotechnology are also very good.

Talking about the life sciences courses offered by SVIMS are great to opt for. The above said two courses in UG are great to take but as per students review the B.Sc Biotechnology have a edge on the comparison to B.Sc Microbiology. The placements are also decent according to the official data. I'd consider chose any of these courses as per your interest rather than comparing the placement data.

There's no Entrance examination conducted for UG/PG Admissions in SVIMS. The students are selected on their merit basis. You can apply for the admission through official website. The eligibility for UG admission is 12th Pass with 50% marks and for PG the criteria is Graduation in a relevant field with an aggregate of 60% marks. The SVIMS is a great institute for pursuing BBA. It provides good Education along with Placement facilities. For BBA the seat availability is 90 as per the current data. There is no official data but you can find it in Shiksha app. shikha/svims.in.
