No, Teesside University is not a part of the Russell Group of Institutions. But it is a modern, public university which is focused on teaching quality and applied, industry-linked degrees.
It is still considered a popular option for Indian students due to its more affordable tuition and lower entry requirements than the Russell Group.
As per the popular ranking bodies like QS 2026, Teesside is ranked #422 in Europe.

As per the QS Rankings, Teesside University was awarded an overall rating of Gold across all the areas in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.
In Europe, Teesside University has been ranked #422 in the year 2026 which is a decline of 6 places.
As per the Times Higher Education 2026, Teesside has been ranked #601 which shows a constant improvement since the year 2024.

For an international student on a full-time postgraduate degree, the standard tuition fee ranges between GBP 10,000 and GBP 17,000 (INR 12.7L and INR 21.5L).
For the BA Honours Degree, the tuition fee for Indian students is GBP 17, 000 (INR 21.5L) for a year. The students also have to pay for living expenses which are not included in this tuition.

The tuition deposit at Teesside Uni is GBP 4,000 (INR 5.1 Lakhs) for Indian students. This is non-refundable and mandatory for students to pay, in order to receive their CAS letter.
Note - The deposit may be refunded in exceptional cases like UK study visa rejection.
