The minimum eligibilty criteria for the MTech programme includes bachelor’s degree in relevant stream from a recognised university with minimum 50 % aggregate (45 per cent aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) at Guru Nanak Institutions Hyderabad. The MTech selection process includes a valid score in GATE/ TS PGECET exams followed by a Personal Interview.

IBS Hyderabad has a high ranking according to NIRF as compared to IMT Hyderabad. The IBS Institute also has high rankings and reviews from students as compared to IMT Hyderabad. Though, the placement records and the placement rate of both colleges are nearly the same there are a large number of companies that visit IBS Hyderabad Institute as compared to IMT Hyderabad. The medium package offered by the institute is about INR 12 LPA and the highest Package offered by both the Institute is nearly INR 25 LPA. So, the Institute differs in their infrastructures, faculty, and rankings but both have the same placement record.

The Placement rate of the college lies between 80-82%. The highest Placement was 25 LPA and the average Placement was 12 LPA. Institute of Management technology offers courses in various fields. The admission to the courses at IMT, Hyderabad is based on the scores of the exam accepted by the college or entrance exams of the college.
