More than 800 million people have internet access and there is more than one billion active mobile connections, mobile telephony in India has reached 2 billion customers making it one of the biggest telecommunication industries globally.

It has also been ranked among the world’s the fastest growing sectors with yearly growth rates that are above 10%. Policies and laws that the India government has put forwarded over the period to encourage investment to stimulate competition to fuel the telecom industry are as follows. The government has also established other organizations to control the industry such as; Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Hence, there is a vast scope in this particular segment of law.
